Today is my daughter’s birthday. Boy does time fly. It sure doesn’t seem like that many years ago that she was born. Now she has 4 kids, the oldest one is almost 15. I told her this morning she was getting old.
Spring is in North Idaho. Yesterday it was gorgeous, high of 62 and today, IT”S SNOWING!!! Only in North Idaho. Everyone in the United States is enjoying warm weather EXCEPT the Northwest. Last month we had record rainfall. Our basement flooded and it’s been a mess to clean-up. All of the stuff was my Mother-in-laws. And she has lots of it and doesn’t want to part with any of it.
That leads me to think, how valuable is our stuff? How much emphasis should we put on STUFF? My MIL values her stuff more than anything. She’s 79 years old and has things her kids gave her when they were in grade school and refuses to part with them. That was over 50 years ago. Take a picture and get rid of it. I think it all stems from the fact that she was a single mother and didn’t have much raising her kids. She worked hard for everything she has. She also went thru the depression. Things just seem to mean everything to her. You should see her apartment. There are little stuffed animals everywhere and she doesn’t like the great grandkids playing with them. She has dolls everywhere too. She wants to put a doll room in the basement. I told her Saturday as we were going thru soaked boxes that it wasn’t going to happen. Now that I’ve vented, let’s move on.
Last night for dinner I made homemade tortillas. They were very good. I'll post the recipe in a day or so.
